SCCi Alphatrack

Trinity Court

Another successful Fibre Delivery for SCCI Alphatrack at Trinity Court, Grays Inn Road, London.

The Development

Trinity Court in Grays Inn Road is a 9 storey private housing development, built in 1935 in an art deco style in the heart of Clerkenwell. Trinity Court stands out amongst the more traditional buildings on Grays Inn Road, not only in its style, but also in its stature, extending over nine storeys including a basement storey.

Built using a steel frame construction and clad in white-painted render, with a distinctive blue colour to its window frames and railings, Trinity Court is an attractive building and important example of 1930s residential architecture. The external appearance of the building has been preserved and windows, balconies and railings all appear unaltered since 1930.

The Proposal

Having completed a number of Freshwater buildings working with the freeholder’s consultant ARC Partners, we were trusted to provide a network on this flagship of a building. The brief was simple – deploy a network that did not affect the aesthetics or fabric of this beautiful property - & deploy a single fibre infrastructure, meaning the block only needs to be wired once.

We liaised with the freeholder consultant and the local managing agents to ensure everyone was happy with the intended deployment. Works were completed in November 2023 - on what was clearly a complex deployment.

Using 4 Fibre protects the aesthetics, safety, space & integrity of the building whilst minimising disruption, by virtue of being installed just once, rather than have multiple operators wiring the building one after the other, as is the traditional alternative.

The Delivery

We deployed fibre service via 2 DPs around the scheme – all linked back to just one meet me point, from where up to 4 ISP’s can service the building without running another cable. All core drilling, containment and fire stopping was managed and completed by SCCI & on completion we fully spliced and tested the network and provide as built sign offs to the consultant. Any ISP wishing to service this scheme, could realistically go live on the same day as they bring their feed to the building – that saving on engineering time and disruption is huge.

Conclusion

Successfully deployed in around 5 weeks - offering the residents full fibre connectivity. Our partnership with ARC and Freshwater meant these services were introduced to the scheme at no charge to the residents, managing agents or the freeholder. Our solution was delivered with very little disruption to the residents, future proofing the building and adding desirability and value to the homes within.

The 4 Fibre install was high specification; concealing cabling and minimising the need for penetrations - thus preserving Trinity's aesthetic and common parts. All workmanship was undertaken quickly and to a very high standard, with the scheme fire-proofed throughout.
