SCCi Alphatrack

Royal Arsenal and WARMC

Another successful Full Fibre delivery for SCCI Alphatrack at the Royal Arsenal Riverside in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The Development

Royal Arsenal Riverside is a superb riverside destination situated on the banks of the River Thames, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

With 5,000 new homes plus restaurants, bars, retail outlets and leisure facilities, all complemented by parks, beautiful riverside walks, and a rich history, it is truly a sustainable new community that offers sensational Thames-side living.

The Challenge

After successfully completing a Virgin Media delivery at Kidbrooke Village, we spoke to Berkeley Homes about carrying out the same at Royal Arsenal Riverside.

At that point over 2,400 new homes had been delivered along with a variety of commercial and community space offerings.

The site had limited options for high-speed broadband & no Virgin Media. We then agreed a wayleave and set about planning a full fibre deployment (XGS PON) for NEX Fibre/Virgin Media

The Solution

We like to think this was a relatively easy decision for the Berkeley (freeholder) and the managing agent Rendall & Rittner due to our recent successful deployment of Virgin Media at Kidbrooke Village, which is also under their ownership and management.

A design was submitted for a discretely installed retro fibre deployment.

The external network was provided by mainly PIA, so little civils works were required. This allowed us to deliver Gigabit broadband, phone and TV to every apartment with very little disruption to the residents.

The Delivery

The proposal was accepted and works began after the wayleave and planning pack were agreed.

The NEX Fibre XGS PON network was deployed to the new build site first, followed by deployment on the historic buildings on the golden square. This increased broadband speeds and offered a wider range of services, and additional consumer competition for TV viewing.

Our partnership with Virgin Media meant these services were introduced to the scheme, at no charge to the residents managing agents or the freeholder.

The latest NEX Fibre network was quickly and efficiently installed whilst minimizing penetration and fire sealing afterward, under our FIRAS accreditation.

Residents who wish to subscribe to Virgin Media can be easily connected from the connection point at their front door, improving connectivity and consumer choice within Royal Arsenal Riverside.

SCCIA exceeded our expectations with their seamless installation of Virgin Fibre at Kidbrooke Village and Royal Arsenal Riverside developments. Emma Kenvyn, Berkeley Estate Manager
