One Brighton
SCCI Alphatrack collaborate with 4Fibre, to deliver a fibre network to One Brighton's eco-friendly mixed-use development in Brighton, East Sussex.
The Development
Developed by Crest Nicholson and Bioregional Quintain, One Brighton is an innovative and sustainable mixed-use development located in the heart of Brighton, East Sussex. Known for its forward-thinking design, the development integrates modern urban living with environmental responsibility. The project combines residential units, commercial spaces, and community areas, all built with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.
Incorporating features such as energy-efficient apartments, renewable energy systems (including solar panels), and water-saving technologies, the development includes 172 apartments, from eco studios, to 3-bedroom units.
One Brighton represents a vision for the future of cities: sustainable, community-focused, and capable of meeting the needs of modern residents without compromising the planet's future.
The Proposal
Recognising the lack of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) willing to service the building, SCCI Alphatrack (SCCIA) collaborated with the freeholders and managing agent (SHW) to implement a dark fibre network.
The objective was clear: deploy a reliable network without compromising the building's aesthetics or structural integrity. The solution had to be discreet, ensuring minimal impact on the property’s visual appeal while maintaining strict fire safety standards.
The Delivery
Partnering with 4Fibre, SCCIA installed a passive, neutral fibre infrastructure, eliminating the need for repeated wiring—a shift away from the traditional method where multiple operators wire a building sequentially. This approach preserved the buildings' aesthetics, safety, and spatial integrity, all while minimising disruption and maximising efficiency.
Although there was no ISP lined up at the start, SCCIA were confident that the forward-thinking nature of this solution would attract providers. Upon completion, Brighton Fibre (a local ISP with an exchange just across the road) were approached, and they embraced the project.
