Alphatrack Systems implement an Entrotec door entry system, KMS access control, and multisteel gates at Brixton's Blenheim Gardens Estate
The Development
Located in the London Borough of Lambeth, Blenheim Gardens Estate (BGE) is a carefully maintained example of the1960s public housing vision of chief architect,Ted Hollamby.
Designed and built in the late 1960s / early 1970s, BGE is a pioneer of this vision, featuring low-rise, high-density housing designed to create a feeling of community. With features that characterise the work of Hollamby—including separate vehicular and pedestrian spaces, a landscaped central mall, flats above garaging, and community buildings—the development is known for its vibrant community and attractive living space.
The estate consists of a range of housing options from apartments to family homes, sitting within landscaped communal areas, well-maintained green spaces, and easy access to local amenities, and public transport links.

The Delivery
As part of a recent modernisation initiative, Blenheim Gardens Estate has undergone a series of upgrades to ensure it remains a thriving, sought-after location for residents. With a focus on sustainability, many homes now feature energy-efficient technologies, promoting a greener lifestyle while maintaining high standards of living.
Another key aspect of this initiative has been the enhancement of security and access control systems across the estate, which led to Alphatrack Systems (ASL) being appointed to carry out the design, installation, and commissioning of new systems.
ASL implemented an Entrotec door entry system, KMS access control, and multisteel gates throughout the development.
The Entrotec door entry system provides robust and user-friendly access solutions, while KMS access control enables the cloud-based management of fobs, access permissions, and usage, ensuring seamless control over resident entry and exit from the buildings.
Complementing these systems, bespoke engineered multisteel gates were added to secure communal areas, combining strength and durability with a design that preserves the estate’s aesthetic.
A complexity arose from this particular installation as the building’ s staircases led directly onto surrounding pavements (see images). ASL were able to overcome the issue via the design and installation of fencing and gates to enclose the relevant areas, with close support from their specialist partners.
